This two-day training course is the foundation course for developers who are planning to build and design applications using Apache Accumulo. Students will learn the details and features of Apache Accumulo, table design for efficient queries, and create Java and MapReduce applications that focus on data ingest, processing, and retrieval.
Throughout the course, students write applications, utilizing Accumulo’s features, to strengthen the concepts presented.
This course will cover the following topics:
- The core technologies of Accumulo
- How Accumulo works
- How to develop Java applications that utilize Accumulo
- How to develop MapReduce applications that utilize Accumulo
- How to implement cell-level security
- How to use iterators
- Basic table and schema design
- How to use the Accumuo shell
Students should be familiar with Java and have a minimal understanding of Hadoop and the MapReduce programming model.

Cancellations and Changes Policy
If you need to cancel your Accumulo Training registration you may do so for a full refund, less $65 service and processing fees, until June 6th 2014. You must request a registration change in writing prior to this deadline. If you are unable to attend the event after the change deadline, we recommend you send a substitution in your place. Attendees who register after that date and do not cancel in writing are liable for the registration cost and will be charged for the full registration fee.
